Freebeat Shubaka Downbeat José Rico has earned an international reputation as a producer (and DJ) with his refined and elegant combination of downtempo rhythms with dub, incorporating influences from house, American techno and 1990s European abstract electronica. In love with analogue sound, his live performances of synthesised music along with other electronic instruments are technically impeccable. José Rico lives by and for music. Music isn’t meant to be at a consistent volume and flat frequency. It’s meant to be dynamic, to move, to fall and rise and to take you with it, physically and emotionally. Otherwise it literally is just background noise.
